W R/Q interference

(= 9+12 )

This problem by Touw Hian Bwee (Schach-Echo 1974) was featured in yesterday's
solving contest in Lübeck. I immediately recognized it and had the solution
im memory.

But did I?

After the contest, I wasn't so sure anymore. I could swear the problem I
remembered also had W R/Q interferences (even on the same squares with
the same key), but the R had *two* potential double checks.

Does this make sense or is my memory faulty and I confused it with
something completely different?

You mean 1.Qxa4+? bxa4??? 2.Rb6#
It's not a helpmate and there's bBe1

bBe1 can't help. The check is double (Rb6+ and Bf7+).

And why checkmate cooperatively if you can checkmate like that?

The author of the post did not specify the stipulation of the problem. Should be #2.

1.Qxa4+? Kxa4! 2.Ra6+? Ba5!

Solution: 1.Qg5!
