Kostas, I completely agree with you but this service could be started much earlier eg from WCCI 2004-2006

@Vitaly
Yes, I know that upload and publication of a PDF file is not difficult job and cost less than minute, but this doesn't mean that Dmitri and Julia didn't make excellent job, because the files was so many and they upload them very quick. It is not so easy to upload and publish thousands files and to make it without delay. So again - they do all this excellent, so many thanks to both of them.

Of course the most important and difficult part (spreadsheets to judges, judgements, awards preparing etc.) still continue, so I hope and believe that all will be OK.

About the "modernisation" - so many things can be done. As I wrote few months ago here - we living in the 21st century, so I always wondering why for example big and important events such as WCCC are usually with veeeery slow informative websites... We waiting days and weeks for information about the decisions, result, photos etc. Last year was my first when I was not able to go to WCCC for recent 5-6 years and I feel how horrible this was... to waiting some information and to see it with days of delay...

Why not the official websites do not make daily reports!? This is not difficult and can be prepared for no more than 30 min daily, but all chess composition fans all over the world will be happy.

Why there is no video stream of competitions such as the solving show!? It is easy and will cost no more than 20-30 USD for some web cameras, but will be great and attractive. (I tried something similar in Berne when published many photos and information via Twitter durring the Solving Show and people which follow it was very happy and thankful, but if there is video stream will be more attractive).

Or also video stream of lectures during the congress. Will be nice the composers to share their experience not only to the congress participants, but via internet to all other which can see the lecture on their computers all over the world. This is not difficult. 1-2 web cameras are ennough this to become real. So why nobody still didn't do it yet? Am I missing something?

In 21st century we can make so many improvements which are easy but nice and I don't understand why they are still not started...
But of course this is only my personal opinion. I am sure that the organizers have a lot of difficult tasks, but some day if some of them can make some improvements will be nice.

Diyan,
I agree that information is coming slowly from the Congresses.
What's about results and decisions, the official websites (the editors) have to wait for the official information. You know, the organizers, directors of solving competitions, delegates, judges of composing competitions.. all are quite busy during the Congresses, and do as much as they can to give any information for publication faster.
Live stream of the main events might be an interesting option for those who doesn't participate. I believe, either WFCC website or the official websites of the Congresses (preferably, as they have time and place for the setup?) might do it. Maybe in some simple way, using several web cams, and a free account for live streaming, like USTREAM (http://www.ustream.tv/). Would be interesting to try!

Yes, Julia, that was my suggestions months ago... To be included:
- Video stream for fast and attractive solving competitions such as Solving Show during the WCCC;
- Video stream of the lectures during the WCCC;
- Daily reports with even some short information and photos about what's happen every day during the WCCC.

All these 3 points are VERY EASY to be done and I am really wondering why still nobody make them... Will be great for all I believe.

Julia, about your note that the daily reports will be difficult because all organizers, judges, participants are working hard and they are busy. I AM NOT AGREE!! There is no needed the daily reports to be very deep. Even some BRIEF INFORMATION and photos will be ennough and interesting! And this can be prepared and published for 15-30 min - is this sounds difficult!? And the full information can be published later. It was very funny and sad that some participants share with friends phone photos with results, or emails with some decisions, but the official website stay without updates...

When I participated on WCCC I composing for the congress tourneys, receiving entries for the Bulgarian Wine tourney, preparing the Award and published it, sometime present a lecture and even that I found time to upload some brief DAILY REPORTS in my website about what's happen on the congress every day. So as you see IT IS POSSIBLE! It's hard to believe that organizers of such a big and important event as WCCC will be not able to find somebody to upload daily reports... WCCC is important not only to the participants, but also to all people in our chess composition community so they deserve it!
