A nice problem by Reddmann

I found quite nice the following problem :

H. Reddmann
Die Schwalbe 1987
(= 8+3 )

1.Bc3? [2.0-0-0‡] Rg8!
1.Bc4? [2.0-0-0‡] Rf8!
1.Sc4? [2.0-0-0‡] Re8+!
1.Sc5? [2.0-0-0‡] Rd8!
1.Rc2! [2.0-0-0‡]
with castling and bicolor bi-valves

Some suggestions might be :

Sd3->Sd6 may be better , 3 tries are on a same square (c4), and it introduces new tries :
1.Kf1? [2.Bd5‡]
1…Rf8 2.Q×c6‡
mais 1…Re8!
1.S×c8? mais 1…Kg1! (a bit formal)

another transformation further : Qa8->Qb7 :
1.Bd5+? Kg1! (2.Qg7‡?? gives one more use to the Bishop g7)

another transformation further :+ black Pa2 :
1.Rf2?, 1.Re2? mais 1…Kg1! unpins the Rook c6!

so I propose the new version : Sd3->Sd6, Qa8->Qb7, +blackPa2

what does the author think of it ?

Hmmm. Difficult. 20 years ago I gave not much thought to
such details. My biggest "but" is that I think unthematic
tries only distract, and when it even introduces an
otherwise unneccessary pawn into an aristocratic problem...

I put the S to d3 so that he stands directly besides his
colleague, like the wB, wR and (cum grano salis) bR.

I think that I understood what you say when I saw the problem...
I agree that the most controversial proposal of the three is the adding of the pawn.

However Hauke,

You could reply also

1) The Knight is more natural on d3, closer to the black King. It gives taste to the pseudo-try 1.Rg2??

2) The fact that all the squares between c6 and c1 are used as interference places is also a nice pattern

3) The fact that the Queen is left "en prise", and in the corner gives a preference to a8 and not to b7
