To me was recommended the October 1939 article (from volume 4 of Fairy Chess Review) by T. R. Dawson.
https://www.theproblemist.org/mags.pl?type=fcr
"War - and Fairy Chess"

 QUOTE
I refuse, at present, to believe, that these men [quotes 4 fairy chess problems by Germans] are Nazi "aryans", that is murderers, liars, treatybreakers, and Jew-haiters. We have long known these men by their works for shapers of beautiful, imaginative, finely conceived things of spirit. We have thought of them as men like ourselves, our friends and colleagues[..] Are we slowly to descend in the dreadful months to come to a state of stupid bestial hatred about them and many others?

"Divide et impera" is a very old principle, but nevertheless very actually.
It is exactly that, what ruler like Caesar, Trump, P. wanted and want. Conflicts, splits, fights etc., but no unity.

Yes, our problem chess world is very small and very unimportant. But every piece of unity today may be important too, at least for belief and self-convidence. So please let us not become divided into nations, religions, genders or whatever. Let us have different points of view, yes - of course, and let us discuss them. But let us not be splitted without any way back.

Let us be humans, not playing pieces of inhuman rulers.

I'm Russian. And one quarter or less are Gypsy. I can be excluded from WCCT, WCCI, Album FIDE and even (!!!) from "The Problemist".
But I will still remain both Russian and chess Problemist. Thank you so much to all malicious friends, thank God, there are more of them!
Sorry my bad inglish...

Here is my suggestion for further bans by BCPS.
Probleemblad, the magazine of Dutch problem society has decided not to ban individual composers.
So BCPS can ban all Netherland composers also. Perhaps they can ban Germans too, since Die Schwalbe is delaying a decision.

There is hope, at least for our small community, and perhaps beyond.
Such a feeling overwhelms me when I see these reactions of reasonable and sensitive people. Their actions and words lead me to express my gratitude and optimism that, despite everything, there are more people in the world who will preserve their dignity and integrity.

Thanks to Siegfried for remembering TRD's words from the past.
In the very next issue, the "TRD FCR", a special 48 page issue for TRD's 50th birthday, C.E.Kemp writes:
 QUOTE
In these dark days of war it gives me intense pleasure to be able to pay tribute to F.C.R as a journal which transcends all boundaries - racial, national, political, religious - and unites in a common interest a body of men so diverse and so dispersed as the contributors to this issue.

According to Laszlo Lindner in "Mattbilder eines Lebens", the TRD 50 issue has 500 problems of which 54 are by living and 36 by deceased German composers, presumably all originals. LL took the numbers from an article by Sandor Hun, Magyar Sakkvilag 1940, Hun himself a victim of the Nazis. LL also points out the 1943 book Variation Play by White and Jacobs. The USA and Hungary were at war, but that did not prevent publishing Hungarian problems; LL says it would have been totally impossible vice versa.

You are quite right Joose. However US and Hungary were not at war. Germans had occupied Hungary.

According to Wikipedia, On June 5, 1942, the United States declared war on Hungary. Romania and Bulgaria.

Joose, Shankar...
Sorry, You are both right. The German occupation happened much later and initially Hungary was a staunch member of the Axis powers.
