The theme is so covered with mold that penicillin can be grown on it. :)

@Eugene: So what? Even the fairly recent Sowhatny theme tourney
gave so good results that my average entry was not even mentioned.
And this is a theme which is already a zombie :-)

How compatible is blitz with composing at all?

PS. This is three weeks long composing.

@Dejan: Extremely good question. There are people who
constantly run at lightspeed (I play tournament games
usually in blitz tempo, and I hardly need more than
five minutes to compose a problem after the muse
smooched me :-) and there are people who take ages to
polish. Obviously the first group has the advantage here.

One can discuss at length if one should bring at all
a sport aspect into something what is an art form.

In the last century, the Odessa festivals held blitz contests on the compilation of problems and studies. Judges: V. Rudenko, V. Chepizhny, Anatoly Kuznetsov… Several days were offered to create a composition on the theme and there were of interesting problems and studies. Today there is a blitz at International Congresses. Look at the results of the blitz competition in Volgograd, it was given a week to compile:
http://www.efrosinin.ru/aa/jurnal/TP-21-2018.pdf (p. 9-20). Similar tournaments are popular on the website http://superproblem.ru/
The chess composition is good because it has different formats.

Three weeks tournaments are not so "blitz" like QCTs at WCCC.

Obviously composers enjoy that forms of competitions.

Yes. One month is good enough to compose nice problems.

ANNIVERSARY THEMATIC CONTEST
OLEG EFROSININ – 65

On the ChessStar website https://www.chessstar.com/ preliminary RESULTS have been published https://www.chessstar.com/composition/competitions/awards/others/Efrosinin-65JT/Oleg_Efrosinin-65JT_2021.pdf my anniversary contest.
The contest received 12 problems from authors from the following countries: Belarus, Germany, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Russia. The idea to hold the contest pursued a clear goal: to show that chess composition is not only a multi-year competition, with summing up in a few years, but also blitz contests. This is especially true today for juniors, for whom efficiency is a credo of life.
I thank everyone who congratulated me on a small but responsible anniversary by sending their compositions. The warmest words of gratitude to Ferhat Karmil, who also congratulated me on my anniversary and took on the hard work of an arbitrator. I have always been attracted by Ferhat's bright, extraordinary ideas regarding the award.
Regarding the theme of the contest, this is an attempt to bring new ideas to the classic theme of the "pendulum". And, of course, remember your youth, offering as an example one of the early problems. All the problems submitted to the competition, without specifying the authors, and forwarded to F. Karmil, who proposed the distribution of differences. After summing up the final results, I will send book prizes to all the authors of the marked problems. Congratulations to the authors of the best problems!
Please send comments on the award to my address: rosinio@mail.ru no later than December 28, 2021.
