35th TT CCM C 10.10.2014 CCM has just announced a new edition of the traditional* theme tourney.
Theme shortly: Siers battery in fairy #3
Deadline 10.10.2014, judge Ladislav Salai jr.
More on the announcement page: http://www.jurajlorinc.com/chess/ann35tt.htm
----------------------------------------------------------
* - TTs of CCM already have established tradition, running since 1998, with 33 successfully finished editions it is probably not an exaggeration, moreover most TTs had fairy themes - see http://www.jurajlorinc.com/chess/ttccm.htm |

The theme of the 35th TT CCM was chosen by the judge. I have browsed examples available in the WinChloe database and to my surprise there are not so many convincing examples. Many original schemes still wait for their discovery.
Here is one simple example with one Holst and two obstructions:
Stanislav Vokal
The Problemist 1990
(= 9+12 ) #3 Madrasi (9+12)
1.Ba7! th. 2.S×d7+ K×e4 3.Sf6#
1..d1=R 2.Sa4+ K×e4 3.Sc3#
1...Qf3 2.Se6+ K×e4 3.S×g5#
1...Rf5 2.Sb7+ K×e4 3.Sd6#
What is your favourite fairy Siers? Can you do better? |

hm... using Madrasi condition, obstruction or mutual obstruction (3 move theme in orthodox chess) can be shown in #2. So I think better problems will emerge from the tourney. Below is an early example showing mutual Anti-bristol in #2.
K.Seetharaman
Feenschach, 1983
(= 6+9 )
#2 Madrasi
KEY: 1. Bh3 ! (2. Sf3, Sg6#)
1…. Qd6 2. Bf2 # !(2...Bc5?)
1…. Bd6 2. Qf6# ! (2...Qe7?)
(1…. Sc4 2. Qf4# !
1…. Se2 2. Q:h5# !) |
