Deadline tomorrow!
Happy to inform you that numbers of participants and countries have already doubled as compared with previous year!
Still, no composer from big India. Two years ago there was Murali Karthikeyan, already a rising star GM. Any other young composer in your country, our Indian friends?
We still hope to see somebody from big Azerbaijan, where Aydan Huseinzada and Azer Abbasov were doing so well previous years.
And, perhaps, Christopher Yoo from USA, the wonder kid in both game and composing endgames.
Please, remind your youngest colleagues not to miss the chance! |

25 participants !! Great. Our young star Karthikeyan was unfortunately too busy with his game commitments. |

Thanks, Raju!
Wonderful advertisement for chess composition, including links to other articles.
We should join our forces in attracting new generations. The most difficult part is to invent thematic conditions that could motivate complete beginners while giving them a chance for at least a bit of originality.
This time self-blocks missed to fulfill the second demand, while change of colour failed on the first one: it attracted only the most experienced composers.
The ideal case was the Steffen's theme, we need more of such for the next time. And the question of the right genres is still open.
Whoever comes to a good suggestion would be welcome to offer it: kovacevic.marjan@gmail.com.
Besides, it would be great if some more youth challenges would be offered between two YCCCs! |
