(You are invited to make your) Award for 4th round!


The 4th round of Liga Problemista is now closed for online submissions. 26 entries have been received so far, but some, sent by a snailmail, may arrive in next few days. As in the previous round, members are invited to take part in judging this tourney - use the "LP 2009, Round 4" link below the main menu to access the entries.

Problems are listed anonymously and each is for your conveniance associated with the randomly chosen pseudonym from Greek mythology (just heroes and other mortals, no gods).

Note that for the valid award you should rank at least 12 entries (but please rank few more) and that it should be completed by December 10th 2009 (just in time to be printed in the Winter issue of Mat Plus planned for the end of December). You are also welcome to submit your comments on each problem which to your opinion deserves it.

Composers who took part in the tourney are welcome to also take part as judges. However, they should not rank their own works. A total score for compositions by judges will be increased by the average of points from all other awards.

Sorry, 1000 times sorry, I'm getting senile! I usually firt enable it only for myself, just to check if it's OK. Then I enable it for all others - but this time I forgot to do it.

When studying the award http://www.milanvel.net/pub/lp09_04.html it became obvious to me (and with mathematical work, exact numbers can be figured out).

When a judge ranked a problem as X, it received Y points, with X and Y being:

X 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Y 25, 20, 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4

Everything has already been explained elsewhere:

Points for each individual award are distributed according to paragraph 3 of the RULES of Liga Problemista.

The calculation method is explained in the last section of Instructions on Judging.

The judge does not rank his own problems, but rather gets the average from all other awards.

There was an error in the award of the 1st round the Errata of which was planned to be published in the Winter issue, but it was not taken in account when the final table was calculated. The 4th place is a joint problem by Emanuel Navon and Yoel Aloni and, according to the rules of LP, the points for this duet should have been calculated separately from the points for Emanuel Navon alone. The final table have been updated with this correction:
