Winchloe ?
The link posted looks like it refers to the 'Problemist' or 'Problemiste' software?
Which is a very good thing, as it probably means it has been rewritten -- the old Windows version had some problems, and this may mean that those have been fixed. |

@Anders
It's WinChloe under different name. Probably because "AndroidChloe" didn't sound right. |

Just to avoid confusion, we are talking only about the solving engine of WinChloe, not the database. Is that correct? Can the "Chess Problemist" app be used somehow for anything other than a solving engine? I noticed that the latest version of WinChloe (v.3.40) added the options "Import/Export problems to/from Chess Problemist". What are the abilities and limitations of the app? |

No database like in Winchloe. Only a simple file saving and browsing option.
No option for boards larger or smaller than 8x8.
Can't define new pieces.
Otherwise, almost all Winchloe features with regard to stipulations, conditions and pieces are covered. |

Thank you, Shankar. I already had installed the free version a few weeks ago, but never bothered to give it a try. The free version is just a teaser with very limited practical use. Those willing to pay the 37 euros for the full version will get a solving engine with an extensive list of fairy pieces and conditions, to use when they do not have access to a desktop or laptop. Probably suitable for hardcore fairy composers. |
