In addition to the eight mates after selfblocks (nine if you count the changed mate for 1...Sc6 from the set), it has four other mates (if that is what you mean) and some wonderful correction play by all the three black pieces. A masterpiece not bettered for more than 90 years !

I am sure it is a 12. It has good black play (apart from the selfblocks), changed mate, task, and a mutate ! If there is a better traditional twomover, I am yet to see it ! Mr.Dorairaj's BCF prize winner showing eight mates after black-interference moves of two black knights (also a task) and the nine interference tasks of H.W.Grant come close.

The 4+4+4 refers to Fide Albums notation.
It means a perfect score, not a perfect problem. I would translate it as "worth to quote"

This one due to its celebrity is like having received even more points !

Now, is it "the problem of the century " ? I would not say so.
