1 pr is a masterpiece!

Brave decision by Judge about 2, Pr but problem is beautiful.

I just checked both Cyclone books. There is nothing even close to this perfect 4x2 Rice. This is an unbelievable achievement! That it all works so easily is shocking and points to the superior craft of its composer. I'm still dumbfounded and at a loss for words!

Fasano's 2299 in Cyclone2 has the same basic pattern of bK/wQ/wR/wR, but Peter has found a way of utilising this pattern to extend the cycle in quite brilliant fashion. As my name is (somewhat fortuitously) attached to this cycle, I'd like to add my congratulations to those already published on the site. Now and again (more and more rarely in the #2 field) one sees a new problem that gives a special thrill. This one has made my day!

the sweeping Q-move on the 2nd Pr., is very pretty. There is a lot here for 13 men! It's hard to know all that's been done in the area of this traditional-like problem, but it "feels" fresh and is executed beautifully.

A way in which potential duals Bc7/Bc3 are avoided is amazing and beautiful

Darko was right about the brave decision concerning 2.Pr. It has been completely anticipated:

Peter, they did not say a lot.

This problem has another very important point.
People may think that you are a grandmaster due mainly to your great technical skill and talent.
In fact you also changed the usual views on composition.
You explore your field without any "aesthetic" apriorism, in a very fresh manner.
And your 1st Prize is a good example of this, specially the try variation 1.Rd4? [2.Rxd5#] Sf4 2.Bc7#.
Not many composers would see and write it that way.

Thank you Peter.

Huge number of superb studies. Congratulations to all ranking authors!
As a compatriot, my sympathies are going to Darko Hlebec and Mirko Miljanic with their excellent studies no 4., 18. and 21.
