A series mate problem with single combat condition

Ravishankar remembers someone showing him this problem... during his game playing days in the 70s!
"From the initial game position, W makes 8 moves with the same piece and mates."
Nowadays, the stipulation would be stated as series #8, single combat. Or Duel/Duellantenschach.
Does anybody know who the author/discoverer of this problem was and the source? Was it ever published? Couldn't find it in Winchloe..

White can mate moving his d2 pawn. Nice unique solution !

To my best knowledge, it's by GM John Nunn. (Don't take my word on it :-)

I asked John Nunn. He replied:

 QUOTE
No, I was not the composer. Someone showed it to me and I showed it to a few other people, but I was not the composer. I have a vague memory that it was Jonathan Mestel who showed it to me, but it was a long time ago and I am far from sure about this.

Christian Poisson has kindly informed me of the author, source and date:
Hans Kluver, Die Welt, 1975.
However, the stipulation was stated as a "series" proof game in 8 moves, with the final position being diagrammed.
This appears as ID 197479 in Winchloe. I, obviously, missed it as I was searching for a different stipulation!

Christian says he'll update the stipulation as "sd#8, Duel".

It's not a good idea to update the stipulation. The stipulation should be the same as in the source. We have two slightly different problems, one by Klüver, one by someone else.

Thank you Raju for the mating position.

Olaf? I think you misread.
sd#8 means seriesdirectmate in 8. Duel is Duellantenschach. So it is the same as in the PDB after Christian Poisson's update.

Or maybe I misunderstood, then I apologize, and would kindly ask you to show me my error.

I added the problem to the PDB after reading about it in this forum.
Mr. Poisson gave more information: the stipulation was stated as a "series" proof game in 8 moves, with the final position being diagrammed.
So this might be the correct version of this nice problem.
