HR, MatPlusReview 2007, article
(= 11+8 )
1.Dc3? (dr., Kh7 2.Dg7#) d2/c6+ 2.Kh4# (1...bxc3!)
1.De5! (dr., Kh7 2.Dg7#) d2+/c6 2.Kh4#
Parade motive transfer AND wholesale mate...that was too much :-)
Still, you surely know a good problem with *just* reciprocal
change of defense motive (pin/check) with unchanged mates:
1.A? x/y+ 2.B/C, 1.A'! x+/y 2.B/C.
If 1...x+/y+ 2.B/C as above, that's OK.
If the mates change to 2.D/E, that's tolerable. | | (2) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Thursday, Apr 14, 2022 07:06] | This was theme 'change of defence motive with same mates' in wcct-1. | | (3) Posted by Juraj Lörinc [Thursday, Apr 14, 2022 08:43] | Just a few remarks...
- having unchanged mates following in different phases the same defences with changed defense motifs is actually the easiest way - you simply build the scheme with threats and defences only, then add the mates.
- this is well documented by majority of Mlynka theme (cyclic change of defence motifs) examples - can be started quickly here http://www.jurajlorinc.com/chess/ann5tt.htm
- with the same threat in different phases, the matters are more complicated and change of defense motifs is slightly more difficult and the additional motivation of the first moves is needed
- then again, unchanged mates profit from no need to dedicate motivation of first moves to change of mates
- actually, the twomovers with changed mates and changed defence motifs against the same threat are the most difficult to construct in this field
- and this much more difficult theme was set in the 6th WCCT - see here https://www.wfcc.ch/competitions/composing/wcct6/ | | (4) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Thursday, Apr 14, 2022 09:27] | THX.
@Juraj: 60.464 (Mazul)/60.465 (Bogdanow/Rudenko) shows motive change from pin to check,
with changed mates. 60.470 Ion Murarasu also comes close, since it doesn't happen
in the set play, and the changed mates are "alike" (same square). (But no pins.)
Will do, if I find nothing closer.
(EDIT: Later...)
@Seetharaman: Even closer, but still no "pin" motive. 106.573 Alfreds Dombrovskis / V. Melnitschenko
would be my prime illustration choice now, though. | | (5) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Thursday, Apr 14, 2022 13:01] | I found it not at all easy to compose even this one:
(= 9+9 )
1.Sf7? bxc6/d2+ vs. 1.Sg6! bxc6+/d2 | | (6) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Thursday, Apr 14, 2022 14:26] | @Juraj. You are right. Change of defence motive after same threat in different phases is much more difficult. 6th Wcct #2 was quite tough with changed mate also involved | | No more posts |
