Although the category was "U-18", all these children but one are U-12. They solved their first set of six twomovers one month ago, at a training section I organized. The boy who won the open section is 17 years old.

Yes Marcos, beautiful.
I like the phrase "chess athletes" when all my life I hesitated to become chess artist, chess scientist and "chess athlete" !

Very good choice of studies (this has become rare in current solving contests). We recognize Platov, the 2nd study (Schmidt P.) is much more difficult but completely human, without use of tablebases. Wurzburg seems to have tortured a young girl. And Rudenko a young boy !
The other contest, for younger people, is well chosen too. Hultberg embarrasses another girl despite support from two animals, it's not easy when the chessboard is larger than the solver herself. But she finally solved it !

The girl helped by two animals missed a #2 because of curious bad luck. She moved the pieces on the board and unfortunately moved back the Queen to the wrong square (d2, instead of c2). So, she found a right move (Bd5) for the wrong position! I don't think the cut video shows this moment, certainly one of the best (or worst, it depends on the point of view...). It was this problem:
