Mating with Bishop and Knight on a large board https://chess.stackexchange.com/questions/1432/kbn-vs-k-checkmate-on-nonstandard-boards
Not convinced I am, young Jedi.
Anyone with a formal algorithm? (It suffices to give one that drives
the king from the wrong to the right corner. I.e., that manages to
get the critical Kc5 Nb4 Be5/Kb3 -with black to move- in time,
and the black king also can't stay on the upper side.) |

Obviously on any board with a correct corner color up to 14x14 the win is trivial, as outlined in the thread.
So it's really just for boards from 16x16 onwards, or possibly 18x18 onwards, that needs to be researched. |

Could the method shown here be helpful?

Whereas I slap my head for not remembering the posting, the difficulties
in Kriegspiel and large board are due to completely different sources.
I don't think it helps. |

It looks like there is a kind of parallelism between the extent of our board and the extend of our ignorance.
More seriously, the fact that you can push the black king to the edge in Kriegspiel shows that the method used is effective enough |

EG says increasing board size does not bother stronger side:

Maybe I can talk one of the professors at our university into
my master thesis being a table base generator with variable
board size and a foobar dingbator (insert computer lingo here)
to give the answer once and for all :-)
