the curve: y=ax^b +c
the points: (12,2200) (25,2400) (70, 2500)
thanks! | | (22) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Wednesday, Aug 27, 2014 18:59] | That's even simpler because you have 3 data and 3 unknown.
I solved for a and c and interpolated b to 2 sigfigs.
This should suffice for all practical purposes :-)
f(x)=-6800*x^(-1.2)+2540
f(12)=2195,f(25)=2397,f(70)=2498
f(0)=-infinity (you need 2.5 points to get even 0 ELO :-)
f(infinity)=2540 (you won't get higher :-)
Hauke | | (23) Posted by Eugene Rosner [Wednesday, Aug 27, 2014 21:45] | fascinating results Hauke, thanks so much. Not the best fitting curve obviously at the lower and higher ends(I'm sure Petko P. would not approve :-) ! And as others have already chimed in, leave well enough alone! Thanks again.... | | No more posts | Page: [Previous] [Next] 1 2
