Kingston 1997 6h Quick Composing Another mystery.
(= 5+3 )
2#, Peter Bakker, K6h, hon comm
This (or something else!) inspired me to my 2001 diagonal version SCHWALBE 11115 http://www.schach-udo.de/albrecht/albrecht2/?rec=55309 ...but there "after N.G.G. van Dijk" is listed which agrees with my memory. Of course I can't fight through all 1624 (minus the other guy :-) problems on the Albrecht, and an added "MatthäufungD5" gives nothing at all. Anyone with an idea which problem is meant?
P.S. <bitching mode> C'mon, 6 hours for composing?
I did the following in 6 minutes, and I could swear I even did the theme
in triplicate with some promotion trick (but can't find it anymore...or maybe
it was a zero position):

Something went wrong with the copy/paste of the link. I meant this one: http://www.schach-udo.de/albrecht/albrecht2/?rec=176285 (which is the one Geoff also posted) |

Peter Bakker is special because of four Q mates on the same line. |

It looks too me that there are 5 and not 4 WQ mates on the same line (b5-c5-d5-e5-f5). Unless I am missing something? |

Nope, you counted right - five Q mates on a line, which was also the formal tourney
stipulation. (The van Dijk has 7 - no wonder I didn't find it!)
But now Geoff/Joost just increased the mystery: this is the first time
I see the van Dijk problem. It was definitely not my inspiration, selfsame
inspiration looking more like half of my double rendering. <shrug> A nice problem
and also a nice to have for my unending list of comparison stuff, but not
*that* much of an anticipation (given that the 7 Q mates are "scattered" -
which makes for a much more impressing rendering on the "technical" side,
also 7, !!, but mine is more funny :-).
Bother, now I have to find the Schwalbe article about Kingston after all
(I already found one, but that didn't list the Bakker or any at all...) -
if it was the Schwalbe. |

Could it be http://www.schach-udo.de/albrecht/albrecht2/?rec=17696 with four queen mates? |

Nope, Joost, that one I already dug up "en passant" myself :-)
Still, makes a nice addition to the thread. |
