Submit your comments on original problems

A provisional procedure is installed to allow you to send online your comments on original problems. You are supposed to solve the problem before you comment it, or at least to know the solution (e.g. with a little help of your computer).

Your comments will not be publicly known until published in the magazine. You can return at any time to modify it, thus for the MP25 you have almost five months for it...

Also, you can rate the uality problem giving from 1 to 5. The rating is in experimenal phase and the results will not be published until the whole idea is worked out. Nevertheless, there will be some kind of reward for those who are eventually closest to the overall rating. The best commentators (by decision of editorial) will also be rewarded.

Note again that what you write may and probalbly will be published in the magazine!

Uhm, would it be too much to add another button for "Difficulty"? :-)
(I'm accustomed on that from the SCHWALBE - although, admittedly,
nowadays hardly anyone rates anymore at all - and I run a problem
through the computer only after I tried myself.)

@Hauke: OK, difficulty marks may be interesting.

Status: added (but not quite tested)

It's about time for me to start finalizing the solutions column for the Winter issue of Mat Plus (No.28). If you have some comments on originals (from MP 26) to add, please do it within next 7 days, until the November 25th.

Thank you!

I would like to give my comments to originals from No. 31, but as I am too lazy to solve them, I would appreciate to have them on-line as is usual month or two before closing date for comments. Is it possible, please?

In my problem

I do not know whether it is too soon or not and whether there will be any solutions in the planned Autumn Mat Plus issue, but if it is ok, please, I would like to have visible the solutions of originals from Mat Plus 33-34 to give some comments. :-)

Solutions from MP 33-34 will be published in Autumn issue.
Solutions from MP 35 (Autumn) will be published in MP 36 (Winter).
Starting with MP 36 all originals will be presented online before being printed and the solutions with your comments will be published alongside, in the same issue.

Very interesting is the idea of previewing (and commenting on) the originals before they are actually "published" in paper. This way some errors, cooks, even anticipations can be discovered soon enough to be included/corrected in the magazine. My first impression is in favor of this novelty.

However, it is obvious (at least to me) that the publication date of such originals is when they become accessible to the public via the forum. This can be a few months before the magazine is printed, even in a previous year (or even the three years period of a FIDE album). How will this be treated?

As announced before, in the future the solutions and comments will be published in the same issue as original problems. Originals for the Winter issue (MP 36) are pre-published (http://www.milanvel.net/pub/MP36_orig.pdf). You can give your comments in usual way: click "& Comments: in the menu, then select "Issue: MP 36" from the (upper) drop-down list and finaly select the section from the lower drop-down list. Or if you want to go directly there click this link:
http://www.matplus.net/pub/comments.php?i=36
The solutions are hidden for your sake - if you prefer to solve the problem. Otherwise just click the "Solution" button.

There is still time to submit your comments for the previous issue (MP 35, Autumn 2009):

If you'd like to take part in the mass-judging of the 4th round of Liga Problemista 2009 you can see the entries here:

How much time is left for the comments on originals from issues 35 and 36?

The Winter issue will probably be ready for printing around January 15th 2010. Thus, it will be possible to quote even comments which arrive as late as January 10th.

Note no more originals will be accepted for this year, as well as that those which have been presented on the "Comments" pages and in the respective PDF document have December 2009 as the publication date.

All right, that is great. I was just afraid that the deadline is just like that for 4th round of LP 2009 and I was slightly behind my expectations with comments. Anyway, I will do mine before Christmas.
