Two Chess960 counting problems


Cheaters may peruse Puzzling StackExchange :-)

a) For which of the Chess960 starting positions (you don't *know* it is *actually* the
starting position!) you can safely state that you can still castle,
i.e. king and at least one rook never moved?

b) For how many Chess 960 starting position you can play into a position
such that the game *requires* castling?

a) can be considered as solved, b)...well, "Inglar programs", but I don't
trust the result enough.
