An Invitation to the 17th BALTIC SOLVING CUP

Dear friends, I'd like to invite you to take part in the joint project by Latvian and Lithuanian chess problem societies - the 17th BALTIC SOLVING CUP (https://www.wfcc.ch/wp-content/uploads/2019-04-06-LAT-Riga-Champ-Announcement.pdf)! We're glad to revive this competition after more than 20 years.
The Baltic Cup participates in the 4th WSC, and will happen in Riga on the 6th of April.
The type of competition is Open, directed by Vilimantas Satkus (LTU).

There're several moments I'll boast about :) in hope, you'll find them attractive too!

First of all, our participants - local and the guests - as of now: Torsten Linß (GER), Michel Caillaud (FRA), Aleksey Popov (RUS), Vidmantas Satkus, Dmitrijus Chocenka, Martynas Limontas, Viktoras Paliulionis, Stasys Steponavičius, Iveta Satkute (LTU), Antons Gajevskis, Laura Rogule, Emīls Tabors, Stasis Granauskis, Modris Rāviņš, Māris Kaktiņš (LAT) and some more Latvian juniors coming soon.

Secondly, finally I've created a website for my local chess problem society, which has nothing much for now, but at least the calendar of our solving competitions since 2017, and the page dedicated to the 17th BALTIC SOLVING CUP - http://www.chessproblem.lv/sacensibu-kalendars/17-baltijas-kauss/ - where you can see all information about the competition and the list of participants.

And finally, I have a very good offer from the 4-star hotel “Bellevue Park Hotel Riga” (http://www.hotelbellevue.lv) for the stay of our guests: 30 eur/day for single and 35eur/day for double room incl. breakfast! The offer is valid until March, 22nd.

Welcome to my Riga! Please, just write me in a case of any questions for the registration! - Julia (julia.vysotska@gmail.com)

Some important news:
We have accepted suggestions to extend the total time to 4 hours, while including all 14 problems into final results.
Furthermore, having in mind that the WSC problems may be too difficult for the youngest participants, we decided to organize a separate competition for them, the 1st U16 Baltic Solving Cup, in the same time schedule. This competition for solvers born 2003 and younger will have 2 rounds of 2 hours each:
1st round: 4 #2s, 1 #3 and 1 h#2.
2nd round: 4 #2s, 1 endgame and 1 h#2.
The details about both competitions happening simultaneously on 6th April may be found on the Latvian Chess Problem Society website:
