Vey nice. How about this one? http://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/search.jsp?expression=PROBID=%27P0506457%27

@ potential participants

To save time for composing take a look at the result of this search query in PDB (http://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/index.jsp):

g='h#' and stip='h#2' AND SOL='1.%+%+%2.%+%1.%+%+%2.%+%' AND (STIP='2.1..' AND NOT STIP='3.' AND NOT STIP='a1' AND NOT STIP='b')

I just looked into problems now. I noticed that there is an error on the PDB database. Fadil and I, we won the 3rd Prize (and not the 1st Prize) at that quick composing tournament in Arnhem. If I remember well late Milan Vukcevich won the first prize. I think that his problem also had 8 pieces but there were some captures in his position and there was some symmetry. There is an interesting story about this problem. At the time I was seventeen year old kid and Fadil has already been one of the best helpmate composers at the time. At that time I've been learning a lots about helpmates from him. So we decided to compose problem with all checks without captures. So of course to do this the only way is to have at least one white and black battery. So we came up with a scheme (8 pieces) and then we started testing problem with an idea to add pieces to make it correct. At the time we did not have computer program to test position. So we spent some time trying to find cooks but we could not find it. Then we realized that this is the "letzform" position (I do not know what would be an appropriate name in English). I think that his is my only problem where scheme worked right away without any additional pieces. Even Milan Vukcevich told us that our problem should be in front of his problem. I am not even sure who won the 2nd prize but I am almost absolutely sure that we won the 3rd Prize. I believe that this is my only join composition with Fadil and I'll never forget it.

'Letzform' is the word used in English too. The problem got 2 Prize! It has been quoted in the following places:

113 p.44, The Modern Helpmate in Two, Z. Janevski & N. Stolev 1989
p.271, Schach-Echo 17/39
4 p.1641, diagrammes 90 (july 89)
12 p.66, Europe Echecs 363 (march 89)
694 p.261, Album FIDE 1980-82
p.84, Probleemblad 39/5 (sept. 81)
p.183, The Problemist (nov. 81)
G p.251, feenschach 57 (nov. 81)

The Problemist gives 5 problems from the award. 1 Prize went to B.Ellinghoven and 3 Prize to Jac Haring.

By the way, there is another joint problem by Fadil Abdurahmanovic & Miodrag Mladenovic (also Mato Haralovic & Boris Ostruh), 6 Place, Bled TT 1980, but that shows a different theme.

I've got an email from Fadil. He confirmed for me that originally we won 3rd Prize. But later on the 1st Prize winning problem has been cooked and eliminated from the award. He also told me that he found a slight improvement in the position by moving bQ to b3. Then the first moves by black Queen are more harmonious (the length of the moves is more similar).

So even Letzform has possible improvement! Actually the black queen should be moved to a3. (b3 should be a typo).
