traditional #2 with 3 black selfpins on one square

Hi Everyone-
I've been working on a new type of #2 schematic and I'm looking for already composed examples of twomovers where after the key, black defends against a threat by selfpinning on one square. I'm looking for previously composed problems where black places 3 different pieces on one square pinning itself each time. Could anyone supply examples?
thanks!

Hi Eugene. Isn't this the Schiffman theme? Or do you have something else in mind?

Not necessarily Schiffmann. It requires threat battery mate with defence motif of unpin by firing piece causing guard by unpinned black defender. The cousin Nietvelt defence is similar and selfpin can have many other defence motifs (capture of mating piece, unguard by capture, opening line and selfpin only incindental etc.).

I believe changed mates after three black selfpins (on the same square) has been done a few times. So, just a postkey play will be anticipated. Six selfpins on the same square (capture by different black pieces) is the record I believe. One nice example is by C.Mansfield (to be expected) in 1932 and it contains a seventh self pin on a different square. I can locate that if you want.

I just want to see how the selfpin mechanisms can work, so an examples of single phase problems would be fine. I'm working on several matrices currently(to treat the theme in a completely new way) but I just want to see how others have approached the general idea.

Hi Eugene. The penny dropped! I think I can guess what you're up to...

The square-blocks in the solution are not Stocchi blocks.

You are right. Sorry for the oversight. Two of the selfblocks depend on unguards.

as Ian posted on 6/29, Hubert Gockel and I were able to achieve something new with 3 selfpins on 1 square. This may be viewed in the August 2013 Die Schwalbe. A very happy ending after a month's composing! Many matrices until we hit one that could work! I'm glad matplus is up and running that I could report this. The research you all supplied was quite helpful and inspirational!
