Peter Heyl was a prolific composer in recent years who composed in almost every genre. Solving his works often felt like gripping into a candy box where you sometimes catch delicious sweets and sometimes stick to an old chewing gum. May he rest in peace.
Thank you for the nice time that I spent with your problems, Mr. Heyl.

This is one of his last helpmates:

It is a bit late to write this, but as I only learnt today, one and a half years ago on 30 November 2012 already Evgeny Dvizov (15.i.1937-30.xi.2012) has died, a great Belarussian composer of endgame studies, who worked mostly together with Georgy Afanasiev (24.xii.1909-26.iii.1971).

Problemists the world over will be sad to learn of the death of Paul Valois. As well as being the British Delegate to the WFCC, Paul was Treasurer of the British Chess Problem Society, and undertook many other roles within the Society. Though never a prolific composer and always a very private person, Paul was nonetheless well known through his attendance at meetings in many parts of the world. British problemists will remember him with gratitude and affection.

A stalwart of our society.

Paul had intended to be at the ECSC this weekend, but had to drop out due to illness. As John has said above, he was the UK delegate to the WFCC and if there are any matters that other delegates intended to discuss with him they can speak to Michael McDowell at the event. You can also contact me: ian@irwatson.demon.co.uk

Terrible loss for our community, and especially for British problem chess. Paul was the person you always expect to see on some of the airports, aiming for another meeting. I could only hope he managed to enjoy the Manchester City victory parade this Monday.

Paul was my first contact when I first subscribed with The Problemist. His aerograms always contained the most friendly and cheeriest regards. he became a very close correspondence friend indeed. I will miss his emails dearly. Tough news to swallow...

Very sad news. I had corresponded with him (long time ago) when he was editing BCM and Problemist columns. He was knowledgeable, helpful and surprisingly encouraging to the newcomer I was then. BCPS will dearly miss his services.

So sad news, such a tremendous loss not only for British problem chess friends!

It was Paul who founded my interest in reflex mates; I enjoyed his excellent writing on selfmates, on selected studies in The Problemist. And I enjoyed meeting him at meetings: I had hoped to meet him again at Andernach in two weeks. So my last personal get-together with him was at Schwalbe meeting in 2012 at Traunstein I had organised. So sad…

Unfortunately, the information on VK's page is right. Ludo Lehen (*3.6.1925 - †12.5.2014) passed away after long illness, the funeral took place today in Bratislava. He was my friend and many Slovak and Czech composers can say the same or much more.

As a composer, he was predominantly author of twomovers, first orthodox, then mostly fairies, often in collaboration with Juraj Brabec, sometimes with other people. He liked composing helpmates too and then whatever was needed in WCCT for Czechoslovak or Slovak teams. In recent years he devoted a lot of composing energy to his invention Pongracz Circe.

He will be missed.

Sorry Jacques, what does it mean?
"Uri Avnery's get rid of the night" from Google's translator doesn't really help.
