New Fairy Chess pieces

I was thinking about a "Tripod" (working name). It can go three or more fields in any direction but only if the way is not blocked. The way consists of any shortest line leading to the third field and subsequent fields he can pass, if necessary.

Example:
A Tripod from a8 can go to a5,a4,a3,a2,a1 or d8,e8,f8,g8,h8 or d5,e4,f3,g2,h1 but:

a5 etc.: a7/b7 or a6/b6 can not be occupied
d5 etc.: b7 and c6 must be free
d8 etc.: b8/b7 or c7/c8 can not be occupied
Note if for example e8 is blocked it is not possible to reach f8 (not even if e7 is free)

Examples:
(= 5+9 )

Let's use the queen symbol as tripod (Tr) here:
Tr h1 is legal since the way is free.
Tr e1 is illegal since the shortest way is blocked (d2, e2 and f2 are occupied)
Tr b1 is legal and takes the black knight
Tr b4 is legal since there are two shortest ways (d3 c3 b4 and d5 c5 b4). Consequently, Tr a4 is legal (Tr a5 and Tr a3 would be illegal since they're not on the same line)
Tr b7 is illegal since one can't take own pieces. Tr a8 also is illegal since b7 is blocked.
Tr e7 is illegal. Surely there are free fields on d5 and f6 but they don't form a path
Tr h7 is illegal since f5 is blocked.
Tr h4 is legal via f4 g5 h4.

Well, your opinion? It may lead to interesting constructions, maybe with immovable kings.

Well, what do you think about my creation? If I find the old files I'll also present my "inspector" (who was able to paralyze pieces for one half move).

There's always the pragmatic method of evaluation, isn't there?

The proof is in the pudding ... not the sugar, the eggs, the milk or the rice or bread
or potato or spices.

The Tripod is an ingredient ... but does it help make a pudding worthy of the name?

As Anders has already pointed, the best proof of quality of any fairy element is showing some composition involving it. Best known fairy elements are so popular just because they have not so difficult definitions and at the same time they offer very new and nice possibilities compared to orthodox elements of chess.

Well, I'll try to do something :-)

Until then, enjoy this (unique) position.

ok, the last one is a little wrong, there should be no direct path to d8, maybe add a bPc7
