@Hauke: Your last glider is a draw.

I'm not sure if you confuse Hauke and me (his last glider is 1.b7+, 2.b8Q+, 3.Qb6 mate), but I think we should make a separate thread.

I prepare a small memorial contest. I write to my contacts, possibly ChessBase might be interested to host it. So if anyone wants to judge glider problems, let me know at sh-schach check gmx chess eu. Replace "check" with @ and "chess" with .

@Siegfried: Joost is right, think retro. Separate thread: seconded.
Judge: being half of a mathematician, I would take the job of the
judge, if noone else is interested. In that case, I'd keep my
example for a moving glider I quickly made up for myself.

Hauke

Yves Tallec (9/12/1927 - 04/2020) died in hospital after Covid-19 infection.
He was for many years President of AFCE (French Problemists Association), after founder Jean Zeller and before present Axel Gilbert.
He was still very active, corresponding with many people, editing selfmates and writing articles in magazine Phénix, judging tourneys, organizing helpmate tourneys in RIFACE (French Problemists Meeting)...
French problem community is very sad.
Rest in Peace.

This is a huge loss for the World Chess composition! Yves was a wonderful author, editor, judge, and functionary. I knew him personally and always admired his exceptional intelligence and kindness. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Yves family as well as to all my friends - French composers. Rest in Peace.

I was really saddened to learn of this news. I did not get a better impression of anyone else I corresponded with than him. And nowhere did I send more of my selfmates than to his Phenix. The sad news also surprised me because I recently corresponded with him and sent him two of my originals.
Rest to his soul and rest in peace.
