What should I read, what deadline you're talking about? About the GUARANTEED parking or GUARANTEED accomodation.

- "For those registering till April 30th we guarantee free parking places in both hotels and the discounts for kids in parents’ rooms in Metropol Palace: no charge for children up to 7, and 30% discount for children up to 12 years." -

- "We kindly ask you to register before June 30th. Please, fill in the Registration Form, and our team will contact you as soon as possible. Please, note that we can`t guarantee the hotel reservation after June 30th." -

After the mentioned dates, the organizers can't guarantee the specified services. What a "deadline" means to you?
About WCSC, PLEASE READ THE RULES (and my previous post) ATTENTIVELY!

I apologize, for I actually don't understand what you are talking about and what in your post might have a relevant meaning.
And I'm actually not interested, especially since you're not willing to provide a possible relevant meaning of "deadline" in the two consecutive posts.

I do agree with Nikola. And by the way it's not true that in all other sports you know few months in advance who will compete. For example in Davis Cup in tennis (it's unofficial World championship in tennis) you do not know who will play until the day before competition when coaches are required to announce teams. And Nikola is also right. Since problemists are not professionals it's hard for them to plan several months in advance if they are going to participate at some competition.

If any country (say India)wants to take part in the solving tourney can they inform a day in advance? Is there a deadline for giving entry?

Nikola has already given the relevant extracts from the rules. The full set is available at the WFCC site:

The most enthusiastic first to arrive in the city of love (for chess, at least), that's fair! I am not there yet, but I also say welcome to you, Siegfried. You'll do fine in the endgames again, I'm sure.

And what is this neverlasting history with 'unofficial" participants of the WCSC? I remember that some years ago the Rules of the WCSC had had a rule that such participants are not allowed, though it hadn't interrupted them to participate :) And then this rule has quietly disappeared and some solvers participate "unofficially". Whether these "to and fro" changes have been approved on the WFCC's Meeting by delegates?

@David

What is the issue to have unofficial solvers? Their result is anyway ignored when calculating ratings and also they are ranked at the bottom of the table. So I do not see any issue with having them participating. You can call this as a wild card in chess problems with an exceptions that results are not counting and not affecting rank of any other solver. I did read a rules and it's not stated anywhere that unofficial solvers are not allowed to participate.

And there are some situations where it's completely acceptable to have unofficial solver. For example Kostas Prentos used to be best Greek solver for a years. However several years ago he went to live to the USA. He got their citizenship and he decided to participate going forward as an american solver. However this year he visited Athens at the time when there was a Greek championship. Of course, they let him participate as an unofficial solver because he was participating for Greece many years with some great results. In my opinion it's completely justified to allow solver like this one to participate.
