TT "Logical uncastling" (#6-N, s#6-N, studies) C. 31-03-2017

LOGICAL UNCASTLING

Stipulation: #6-N, s#6-N, studies

Theme. In diagram position a main plan is refuted by black castling. Nevertheless, at the beginning of the solution the White execute the main plan forcing Black castling. After that the White force the Black King to return back on e8 and Rook – to its initial corner. At the end of the solution the White execute the main plan again, and the Black cannot refute it due to illegality of the castling.

The combination of the tourney theme with any other thematic content is very welcomed. Fairy pieces/conditions are not allowed. In the case of a large number of submitted entries, there could be split award according to the tourney sections; otherwise the award will be joint. The number of entries is unlimited.

Entries are to be sent to the judge Aleksey Oganesjan, to his e-mail: alexeioganesyan@gmail.com no later than 31 March, 2017.
Award will be published on the website http://superproblem.ru
All participants will receive a copy of the award via email.

View the thematic examples on the link http://superproblem.ucoz.ru/blog/2016-06-22-130#02

PLEASE REPRINT!!

I love how the main plan is executed, countered and executed again after black switchback. This is a very original and satisfying condition for a thematic tourney, and I will love to see how all sections play out. Congratulations on that theme and your examples!
I will reproduce one here since more people should see this!

Main plan 1.Qe5!? – 2.Rxg8+ Bxg8# is refuted by 1...0-0-0! But still: 1.Qe5!! 0-0-0 2.Sb6+ Kb7 3.a8Q(B)+! Rxa8 4.Qd5+ Kb8 5.Sd7+ Kc8 6.Qc6+ Kd8 7.Qc7+ Ke8.
The castling is illegal and that’s why the main plan succeeds: 8.Qe5! ~(g5) 9.Rxg8+ Bxg8#.
