Guided Chess Problem Composing Competition

A new problem composing competition has been launched in Australia. While it's linked to the national Junior Chess Championships, the event is conducted online and open to everyone, regardless of age and nationality. We hope that the composing tasks set will be interesting to new and experienced problemists alike. You can download the question paper now at the official Announcement page: https://sites.google.com/site/ajcc2015/tournament-details/guided-problem-composing

The closing date for entries is the 7th of December 2014. If you're a chess editor and could help us to publicise the event, that'd be great! Also check out my column about the event on the Australian chess problem site, www.ozproblems.com.

Brilliant, Peter!! This is the best project to attract young composers in a very long time. The tasks are as easy and catching as they should be, your guidance is wonderful, and the idea to open the contest for youngsters all over the world is generous. Be sure you will have some juniors from Serbia, too.
My only suggestion is to direct the contest towards juniors (and beginners) only. It doesn't seem fair to accept replies from any more experienced composer.

Thanks for your positive and encouraging remarks, Marjan! We hope to get a good number of entries. To get around the issue of experienced composers competing with newcomers, we intend to have separate prize sections for the two groups, depending on the number of entrants.

This is a very nice idea. I will try to get Indian juniors to participate.
