All things are relative (with thanks to Harrie Grondijs)

 QUOTE
One bright and glorious conception is "liberty!" We are all stirred, some of us frenzied, by it. But is it real? Does such a thing exist in reality? I am afraid we have to admit it does not. It is a sheer impossibility! All things are relative: none absolute; as our liberty, if it existed, would be.
- James Alexander Porterfield Rynd, 19th October 1906 (Irish Unionist Policy)

He probably didn't anticipate Saavedra - but he anticipated Einstein! And here is no doubt about this, since it is written in his pamphlet decades before Einstein came up with this!

All things are relative!

Laying the story to rest,
Siegfried

PS: Of course, the stress is mine (or rather Grondijs')

As far as i know Albert Einstein did come up with exactly the contrary: the speed of light is absolute, and the quote about "all things" is misattributed to him.
