Geir,

I appreciate your clarification.
I accept that you intended this only as an offhand joke, and I will have a good laugh at myself for presuming that it fit with the old, familiar pattern (of dismissal), which I have much too frequently encountered here.

Again, thank you; and, I am sorry for the unnecessary diversion in this thread.
May it serve to help others better appreciate the importance of clear definitions.

Sincerely.

Geir,
I enjoyed your joke, the way I enjoyed the Beatles. The same chess analogy came to my mind each time I heard this song.

I just thought that there are too many threads with serious discussions and there could be some fun on the side too.

I'm glad Hauke didn't mention the horrible German pop band BeFour (read: B4). Their greatest success: Rewriting the text to a famous 1990s dance song ("Around the World" by "ATC" which in itself could be used to say "move the rook from a to c").

Well, good luck fighting electronic cheating when Google Glass comes out! Or - since it is already appropriately named GG - good game!

wiki...wiki...2007...SRTL...Dude, I'm 53, I'm happily oblivious to
such stuff :-)
But since you mentioned ATC, I mention A-ha.
Apologies to the English speakers. I tend to freely mix English
and German even in my thoughts: If Nelson says "Ha Ha" (E), it means
"Ätsch Ätsch" (D). If he says "Ätsch Ätsch" (E), it means "Ha Ha" (D).

On with the show.

The B-52 and U2 are clearly too long for a normal chessboard.

And then, there was this study-like position which my friend only
could win by an underpromotion. Good that "Three Dark Knight" exists!
So I hummed unconspicuously "The Show must go on"...and what does
the idiot do? He promotes to Leo :-)

Hauke

New joke:

Have you heard about the problemist who divorced his wife when he discovered she was a cook?

My usual problemist joke is:

"My wife is not willing to give attention to my problems."
"What kind of problems?"
"Mostly selfmates."
