Many thanks to all again! I will include information and problems of 4-5 another women composers in next few days.

BTW, Alexander, you have the same family name with Nadezhda Leontyeva. Is it incidental or..?

The name Carf became known when the name Baudoin (Mr. and Mrs. Odette(!)) was eliminated due to proven plagiarism.
The main actors first names are Jean-Francois and Jean-Francois and I think all 5 persons live in the same area!
And now you may guess...!!

'proven plagiarism'....
I think, better said : 'suspicions'.
Anyhow, nowadays we have good databases, we don't need any more these heavy terms.

I have cited what is written on Jan Golhas Homepage ("Plagiarists") for several years with about 45 examples.

Kantorovic, Inna
3.c Beginner Ty Shakhmaty v SSSR (s), 1952
version Shakhmaty v SSSR/8 1954
(= 3+2 )
+

The solution is spectacular: 1. Rh6+! (1.a8Q? only draw according to EGTB with perpetual check by black queen, we know now but in 1954!?) Kg1 2. Rh1+!! Kxh1 3. a8=Q Kg1 (3... Kh2 4.Qh8+ Kg1 5. Qg7+ Kf1 6. Qa1+) 4. Qa7+ (4. Qa1+ Qf1+ (4... Kh2 5.Qb2+)) 4... Kh1 (4... Kf1 5. Qa1+) 5. Qh7+ Kg1 6. Qg7+ 1-0

This study is in HHdbIV under number 25776 among only a few others by the same author. The name Inna looks like a female name, maybe Julia knows much more because one other study by the same author (Inna) competed on a tournament in Latvia during 1952. In Russian letters it is: Канторович, Инна

In New in Chess 3/1986 there is an article titled The remarkable Polgar family. Two problems by then 11 year old Sofia are given, presumably as originals, and it is implied that she has composed many more.

(= 8+4 )

#2

(= 5+1 )

#3

There is also a short interview with Zsuzsa (Susan). One of the questions: "Sofia composes problems. Did you do that too?" "When I was four, I did, but not now. Playing in tournaments is something totally different from composing problems, Unfortunately, your opponents do not usually co-operate to allow you to mate them in three."
