4th International Solving Contest - cooked study? The following study which was given for solving maybe is cooked:
L.Falk, Réti MT 1989, 2.hm

1.Rb8+ Kd7 2.Rb7+ Kc6 3.Rb6+ Kd7 4.Rb7+ Kxd6 5.Rb4! Ra1+ [but 5...Rc3+! 6.Kd2 Rc4 7.Rb6+ Kd7! 8.Kxe3 (8.Rb7+ Kc8–+) 8...Rc7!–+)] 6.Kb2 Be5+ 7.Bd4 a3+ 8.Kxa1 Nc2+ 9.Kb1 Nxb4 10.Bb2! Bxb2 stalemate

Yes, it's cooked!
after 5...Rc3+! etc, 7...Kd7! 8.Kxe3 Rc7! 9.Rg6 Rxa7!! 10.Rg7+ Kc6 11.Rxa7 Bg1+ 12.Kd3 Bxa7 13.Kc4 Bc5 wins for black
In view of this black should play 2...Kxd6 to reach this variation two moves earlier. |
