(= 5+3 )
SH, Schema (original)
#2
1.S~ a3 2.Qe6 mate
but 1.Sc2? 1.Sd3? 1.Sf3? 1.Sg2? obstruct lines, for example 1.Sc2? b1S!
1.Qe6+ Ka3 2.Se6 mate
Since this is a schema, I did not delve deep into it and thus made no artistic solution.
In the ideal case, of course, each try should one one refutation that has a different motivation. | | (2) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Monday, Jul 25, 2011 21:01]; edited by seetharaman kalyan [11-07-25] | I remember seeing a twomover showing random and correction moves by a knight. A random move by the knight has a mate provided , but each of the eight moves correct it, so the mate after Random move never takes place! This is something similar to your idea. How about calling it the "Invisible random move"? :) | | (3) Posted by Michael McDowell [Monday, Jul 25, 2011 22:49] | It reminds me of the position by Tolosa, where lifting the king mates, but he must arrive somewhere!

(= 13+7 ) #2
1.Qe1! (2.Qxe5)
1...S~ 2.Qxh4
1...Sg4 2.Qe4
1...Sxf3 2.Sxf3
1...Sd3 2.c3
1...Sxc4 2.Sb3
1...Sc6+ 2.dxc6
1...Sxd7 2.Rxd7
1...Sf7+ 2.Rxf7
1...Sxg6 2.Rxg6
A black knight wheel with 9 mates! | | (5) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Tuesday, Jul 26, 2011 09:02] | Yes. Thanks! | | (6) Posted by Sarah Hornecker [Wednesday, Jan 6, 2021 12:58] | In helpmates, this is also nicely applicable.
No example:
(= 3+2 )
SH, original, h#1.5
1.-Bd1? 2.S~ Ra4 mate
1.-Bd7! 2.Sb3 Ra4 mate
(simply a lack of a waiting move, nothing to do with a specific piece)
Example:
(= 6+9 )
Miroslav Vanka
Sachove umeni 2004
h#2, 3 solutions
I greatly enjoyed solving this in the book of Vanka and Dragoun (Jak a proc). However, I failed to see the unthematic try: 1.S~ Rg8 2.Rfe7 R:f6 mate
All non-standard latin letters are slaughtered by me, sorry. | | (7) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Saturday, Apr 16, 2022 17:21] | That is s wonderful h#2 with pinmates by Vanka. Equally interesting try. | | No more posts |
