In the Headlines see announcement and examples

Not a very good theme, I think. ser-h= with mixed AUW was researched exhaustively in the 23rd Problemkiste TT in 2002.

Joost, maybe you haven't delved into the situation enough.
I believe that many improvements can be made here.
And the name of the tournament is really adequate.

Two questions:

"Only works that have surpassed previous records will be considered."
Are the problems from examples file considered as current records?

And when will uploaded originals be visible? Immediately or after the deadline?

The originals will not be visible until the end of the competition.
No one can see the any original, except the user who submitted the problem through the site and will be able to change it until the deadline.
Only the Matplus administrator can see all originals.
The judge will see the originals (without the author's name ) after the 31st December.
Only record problems and new record table will be published.
Authors may publish unpublished works elsewhere, after the end of the competition.

Yes, there are improvements to be made. I already improved one record by two moves.

It seems that most of the examples where not intended to show the theme in the least number of moves.

If anyone knows of an example with fewer moves or pieces, please let me know so I can update the document

'Show diagrams' in the originals submission queue doesn't seem to work, I just get an empty page.

And yes, I've revised my opinion on the theme. PK theme tourney was for economy of material, which is completely different from economy of moves.

Maybe it's a browser issue. At my computer the files were downloaded automatically.

Joost is right.
The user who entered the new original problems could not see the list of diagrams. Now that has been fixed.
Thanks Joost!

This could be said to be a higher level.
When we achieve the smallest number of moves, then we go for economy!
A challenge, indeed!

After only 8 days since the announcement, it can be said that the composers have very well accepted the challenge.
Composing on a given theme is not particularly difficult even though there are 24 different combinations of promotions.

The closing date of the competition is wrong!
I suggest it be 1st December (instead of 31st December).

The reason is to enable the publication of the results at the end of 2022.

In the annoucnement there is nothing about the promoted pieces in the initial position? I have position where I can replace white rook with white promoted bishop. Per announcement that would be a better ranked problem but it does not make any sense to me. Personallhy I think that promoted pieces in the initial position should be forbidden. Please clarify this.

The Announcement says:

Illegal settings, promoted pieces and King-in-check are not allowed. Promoted Bishop
is allowed only if there is none already existing on the squares of the same color (one
set rule).

The Announcement says nothing about the ranking with the same number of pieces and the same point value, but different kind of pieces.
Is there any additional criteria (more pawns for example or less white pieces)?
And yes - this is possible ...

Easiest example for 'same score, different pieces': R+P vs S/B+S/B
Or even wP vs bP: usually less white pieces is better, but no mention of colour is mentioned in the sorting criteria.
