I recently thought of a potentially interesting effect to show in a chess problem, but I can't compose chess problems to save my life, so I was wondering if anyone here would like to take a shot at it. The idea is sort of a "Roman" theme in a two-mover...the scheme is as follows:
White Ra8, Bg8, Rose-Lion f8; Black Kd3, Bf3.
Tries: 1. Bh7(#?) Be4!
1. Rd8(#?) Bd5!
Play: 1. Key! Bh5/Bg4 2. Bh7# (Bg6??)/Rd8# (Bd7??), where the new defenses have the new arrival error of creating a hurdle for the Rose-Lion.
I'm pretty sure this isn't doable with standard pieces. I tried to come up with a sound setting, but like I said, I can't compose worth beans. Thoughts? In general, is posting half-baked ideas like this welcome on this bulletin board? | | (2) Posted by Sarah Hornecker [Tuesday, Apr 27, 2010 18:48] | Yes, you can feel free to post half-baked problems but problems originally posted here are considered published by the codex.
Nobody requires you to save your life by composing here, by the way. :-) | | (3) Posted by Steven Dowd [Wednesday, Apr 28, 2010 09:03] | I would think posting a general scheme like this is OK, but you probably don't want to go beyond that.... | | No more posts |
