Alternatively the reduced form would do, in which there is a single culminating move by the WS, which is tertiary on 2 lines. (There is Loshinsky 1st Pr Sahs 1960 - any other offers?)
Colin Sydenham | | (2) Posted by Jean-Marc Loustau [Monday, Nov 3, 2008 12:56] | Dear Colin, here is this famous and beautiful problem:
A. CASA
Problem 1967
1st Prize
(= 11+12 )
2#
1 Se4 plays? (2 Qe4#) But 1... Bf3!
1 Sc5!? 1... Bf3 2 Sxd3# But 1... Rxc4! (2 Bd6??)
1 Sd6!!? 1... Bf3 2 Sxf3# 1... Rxc4 2 Sxc4# But 1... Qd4! (2 exd4?)
1 Sxg5!? 1... Bf3 2 Sgxf3# But 1... Sf6! (2 Qg5?)
1 Sg3!!? 1... Bf3 2 Sxf3# 1... Sf6 2 Sg6# But 1... f3! (2 Qg3?)
Then the key is a 2nd degree correction:
1 Sf2!! (2 Qe4#) 1... Bf3 2 Sxd3#
1... Rxc4 (Qd4, Sf6, f3) 2 Bd6 (exd4, Qxg5, Qg3)# | | (3) Posted by David Knezevic [Monday, Nov 3, 2008 13:07]; edited by David Knezevic [08-11-03] | The best problem with the "cumulating move" I know is:

Brilliant service on this forum.
Best wishes, Colin | | No more posts |
