Cyclic Theme name?

Question for Peter, I guess :-)

1.A x/y/z U/V/*
2.B x/y/z */W/U
3.C x/y/z W/*/V

* = doesn't apply or (preferrably) exist

For example Efren Petite, Schwalbe #10874 (2000), yacpdb 19981,
where pieces x,y,z are pinned by solution/tries.

If I am not mistaken, it is carousel change, most regular of Z-32-33 family.
Defence-mate scheme is often writen as opposite cycles of defences and mates: aA, bB - bC, cA - cB, aC
Most mechanisms are based on two mates needing removal of two out of three obstacles cyclically, one being removed by keys (pinning in Petite's example) and one being removed by black defences (withdrawals in Petite's example). Alternatively this can be viewed as three obstacles, one being removed by keys, one by defences and one removed/ignored by mates.

Many many various motivational ideas were already shown, this pinning in keys being one of the most common, the other being closing of black lines attacking battery lines of checkmate squares. Whole chapter in Brabec's book is dedicated solely to carousel change.

THX; carousel would have been my first hunch anyway :-)
