H. F. L. Meyer, #6 (alternate source?)
1. This is the position I have, but the one in the PDB is slightly different. Can someone clear that up?
(Oh, and it should be correct even without the "any move is check" condition!)
2. The solution is 1.Sh4+ Ke5+ 2.S2f3+ Sxf3+ 3.d4+ Sxd4+ 4.Sf3+ Sxf3+ 5.d4+ Sxd4 6.Bf4+. Is that a record? (Not for consecutive checks, of course, but for cc's in a n#!) | | (2) Posted by James Malcom [Wednesday, Aug 25, 2021 05:41] | Hauke, you are the muddled one here. :)
The diagram you have actually is the still cooked original as given in PDB:
https://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/P1372353
I believe you fell victim to the PDB listed future alternations/corrections.
This one is C+ and has your idea;
https://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/P1265745
This one is there: https://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/P1256994
I am convinced that your memory messed you up here: http://matplus.net/start.php?px=1629834045&app=forum&act=posts&fid=gen&tid=80
The current record is 22 by Jacques in an illegal setting with orthodox material pdb.dieschwalbe.de/P1298074. It is a self-correction of his 1978 attempt.
Jacques Rotenberg, Problemiste 2012, 1st prize
(= 10+16 )
Although, I think we should bugger him for the legal record as well. | | (3) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Wednesday, Aug 25, 2021 11:54] | THX for the info! I have no idea where I fetched the cooked original
(not MPF - I already had the position, as the thread linked by you
shows) but the original version has its merits either (methinks +sPb2
eliminates the dual without further ado).
P.S. Ditto on pestering Jacques :-) | | No more posts |
