You surely all know this 6# by Ropke (http://www.yacpdb.org/?id=103072).
You surely all know the solution :-)
(= 9+7 )
As you see, senseless violence gains you not that much. :-)
The stipulation ("problem without words") got some popularity in the
SCHWALBE a few years ago. So, what's the longest variant forced for
both sides (of course 3-fold repetition draws immediately :-)?
Unlike a "problem without words" no specific outcome is mandatory.

Black does have choices, but all lead to the same final position. | | (3) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Wednesday, Oct 1, 2014 10:58] | I should have known it's somewhere on Tim's page :-)
...but still, I'd like to have a variant where all
moves are completely forced, not only the outcome.

P.S. Managed to get a half move farther than in my
quick-and-dirty example (try yourself :-). Getting
a split headache to sneak in another. | | (4) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Tuesday, Oct 7, 2014 12:22] | Aaaand the current record since 1976 is:

Why does nothing of this surprise me? :-)
(The fact that it's not by a "profi", that it's
published since nearly 40 years, but not in
a chess journal and thus virtually unknown...)
Folks, an updated volume-double edition of
"Schach und Zahl" is overdue!
