Autumn issues mailing delayed

Many subscribers become worried because these issues, published one month ago, haven't reach you yet. This information should have been given earlier - my apologies for forgetting to do it. The reason for delay is the combination of three events which occured in succession:

1) I didn't have time to mail the magazines before the Rio Congress (2 weeks delay)
2) When I came back I had a bad cold - fortunately not a swine flu! (1 additional week delay)
3) When I finally mailed the magazines the part of Serbian Post Office was on strike (more delay)

As I received my first mail yesterday, after some 10 days of finding the empty mailbox, I assume that the strike was over and that the envelopes are at last on their way to you.

Mat Plus & Review - Autumn Issues

Mat Plus Review Autumn 2009
A plenty of good reading again in the Autumn issue of Mat Plus Review. It starts with articles Components Of A Logical Stydy (S. Didukh), Gockel Type Of Đurašević Theme (D. Stojnić) and Persuit Of The King (G. Popov), followed by texts about Eugene Albert (G. Chumakov and V. Tyapkin) and Gia Nadareshvili (I. Akobia). Then there are results of composing friendly match Israel–Serbia and two informal tourneys (Threemovers 2007 and Endgames 2008), more reactions to Promotion Records, a Post Scriptum on Ideal Ruchlis and finally some Best Bytes.

Liga Problemista 2009
Theme for 3rd Round

The subject of this round are pin-mates in a serieshelpmate with two or more solution. The announcement is given in our Forum:
http://www.matplus.net/pub/start.php?app=forum&act=posts&fid=lp09&tid=577&pid=3981

PDF versions containing much more examples can be found at:
English language: http://www.milanvel.net/pub/LP2009_3_theme.pdf (142 K)
Српски језик: http://www.milanvel.net/pub/LP2009_3_tema.pdf (142 K)

What is new and particularly interesting about this round is that it will be judged by members of MatPlus.Net.
After the closing date problems will be presented in "Your comments..." application and each members will have the opportunity to make their own ranking of the entries. An extension is added to the application to provide the tool for doing that job. The final result will be calculated by summing the points from each individual judgement. More in the announcement.

Members are invited to take part in this experiment. If shown successful it will help us to define a model for another way of judging the tourneys, which will certainly open new frontiers in our chess problem life.
